| Abstract: | This thesis explores how Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) can make a building safe during earthquakes, how it works during earthquakes, the components used to build, and different design parameters that are required to be considered. Computer modeling and analysis were done in Abaqus software and validated the experimental result and showed the influence of different parameters length of BRB, the friction between core and concrete, and the width-to- thickness ratio of core affect its performance by comparing these software results. These findings help design better BRB to make buildings safer during earthquakes. |
