dc.description.abstractWater is the most essential and crucial natural resource that is available in every corner of the world. But at this era, the population of the world rapidly increases, as does its economy, and human demand also increases at the same time. The core goal of water supply of system is to provide enough amount and quality of water to the users. One major issue facing water distribution networks is their sustainable management, particularly in developing nations. But large quantity of liquid is lost due to water leakage at water supply network. The study centred on investigating how inflow and pressure levels impact the pinpointing of leaks within the infrastructure of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (India). Utilizing hydraulic principles, the research search information into the dynamics of water flow within pipelines, employing equations governing continuity and momentum/energy. The research focuses on examining short pipe systems and investigating the impact of negative wave pressure, pipe characteristics (such as materials and sizes), flow rates, and leaks. These factors are influenced by both inlet and outlet pressures, which can affect the localization of leaks. In the simulation process, inlet and outlet pressures are generated at the junctions or nodes which is modelled pipe, using as an input discharge rate, and then the system is simulated using Epanet software for the hydraulic system. These experiments employed for a single leak location.en_US
