The packaging industry is increasingly focused on sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact. This study explores the utilization of bio-sourced adhesives as binders in the formulation of sustainable inks for package printing applications. The primary objective is to find the suitability of replacing conventional binders with eco-friendly alternatives, emphasizing the potential benefits in terms of environmental sustainability and performance. The research involves the development of ink formulations using bio-sourced adhesives derived from Linseed oil which is a renewable source. Various bio-based materials, such as Vegetable oil or biodegradable compounds, are considered for their adhesive properties and compatibility with the printing process. The ink formulations are systematically characterized for viscosity, adhesion, drying time, difference between surface energy and print quality to ensure their suitability for package printing applications. Additionally, the study addresses the environmental impact of the formulated inks by assessing their biodegradability and recyclability. Life cycle assessments are conducted to compare the ecological footprint of the bio-sourced adhesive-based inks against traditional counterparts, providing valuable insights into the overall sustainability of the proposed approach.en_US
