Abstract: Privacy and identification are critical in ensuring personal autonomy and security in the age of technology. Providing individuals with control over their personal information not only protects against misuse and breaches, but also develops trust and empowerment, allowing for secure and smooth interactions across several digital platforms. Along with that there is urgent need of technology for making sure the user who are accessing various services online must be of certain legal age. To achieve these goals we have developed self-sovereign identity based framework. Self-Sovereign identity is based on identity management, blockchain technology and cryptography. Users need to share minimal data that too in verifiable format only to service providers. Currently most systems require sharing documents like birth-certificate or marksheet etc. for verification of user’s age but using this framework, users can login into age restricted websites without giving any document for proof. Instead, they will share some authentication credentials (le.g. a verified email ID) and date of birth from the document issued by a trusted issuer. This is beneficial for both users and service providers. Age assurance technology not only help organizations maintain their reputation with a strict system for making sure only intended audience use their service, but also helps user maintain the data privacy by providing a way to share their info in secure and reliable way. Users’ data will be stored in some digital wallet as per choice of user. This work holds potential to make the process of authentication and verification more flawless, faster, secure, and interoperable.
