Abstract: Foundation is the most basic and primary thing in a construction. It serves as the base and main support to the structure. These foundations are classified based on different criteria, the basic classification is shallow and deep foundations, which is based on the depth of foundation. Skirted foundations are typical shallow foundations with ground-penetrating skirts around the perimeter. These skirt increases the depth of foundation which in turn increases the bearing capacity. When the skirts are inclined then it is called inclined skirted foundations. This ensures more capacity than vertical skirts due to increased effective width of foundation In this report introduction to skirted and inclined skirted foundations are discussed along with the behaviour of skirted foundations with different inclinations including vertical skirts and for different lengths of skirts in the presence of combined loading of VM on level ground and slopes are considered. Pseudo static analysis for vertical skirts of different lengths and inclined skirts of different inclinations and different lengths and the effect of setback is also considered. The improvement of bearing capacity of a foundation resting on level ground and sloping ground with the provision of skirts under different loading conditions. The influence of various factors affecting bearing capacity of a strip foundations resting on cohesionless soil slopes numerically are found. To carry out a parametric study on the seismic bearing capacity of a strip foundation resting on cohesionless soil slopes. To determine the effect of skirts on bearing capacity improvement on various slopes of soil. To explore the effect of skirt inclination in bearing capacity as compared to vertical skirts.
