Abstract: The present report identifies factors behind the vehicle ownership of 2-w and 4-w motorised passenger modes for an Indian city. It is observed from the literature that the vehicle ownership is affected by household income, built environment (density, design, distance to transit, destination accessibility, diversity), city size, regional context, availability of public transport, life events and socio-economic factors (say age, gender, no of household member). Based on these findings, several socio-economic factors and vehicle related factors were considered for the present study. Jaipur city is selected as a study location. A questionnaire was designed to collect the data from the city. Two locations namely Tonk Phatak and Sanganer in Jaipur are identified for the survey. Sample size is estimated for those locations. Further, Multi-linear regression analytical model is suggested to analyse this type of data. In the end, result and conclusions are mentioned.
