Abstract: The rapid urbanization and infrastructural development in NOIDA, particularly with the introduction of metro stations, have brought about significant changes in the built-up characteristics of surrounding areas. The study involves the investigation of how the introduction of MRTS (metro) in NOIDA is influencing its surrounding urban form. Three strategically chosen metro stations in NOIDA are analysed (from 2011 to 2023), focusing on shifts observed in key aspects of urban form, including land use patterns, building heights, and infrastructure development. Spatial-temporal analysis is employed to examine changes in urban form parameters within the study areas. The influence of metro stations is analyzed within a 500-meter radius, with selection criteria covering both planned and unplanned urban areas. This approach provides a comprehensive understanding of how proximity to metro stations affects urban development. Additionally, two metro stations are analysed within the conventional 500-meter radius, while the third station's influence is studied at a 1-kilometer distance. This comparative analysis helps determine how MRTS stations influence areas at varying proximities. Finally in the end recommendations and strategies are provided which aims to transform these villages into well-managed, livable communities, benefiting both current residents and future generations.
