Authors: Ray, Sarbendra
Issue Date: Jun-2023
Publisher: IIT, Roorkee
Abstract: Packaging is becoming an extra dimension of research and development in the future era. The players of innovation in this field are playing with the properties of raw materials used in packaging to make or improve its utilization in a better way. Similarly, here paper which was an essential raw material for pack-tech industry before the onset of plastic polymer into the corresponding field has been studied giving highlights to its optical properties. Banana fibers were selected to analyze and make Glassine papers to see the light transmission in these categories of papers. Banana fiber was extracted from pseudo stem collected from I.I.T Roorkee, Saharanpur Campus and then proximate chemical analysis is performed on the concept of TAPPI standards.
