To enhance the mechanical qualities of the finished product, paper is often refined (i.e., mechanically beaten). Refining results in benefits that are mostly related to greater density and improved fibre bonding. In this work we have studied and researched on increasing the stiffness of paper by mainly incorporating beating and refining process along with the addition of dry strength resin (Polyacrylamide) to impart stiffness property to the paper product being developed. The paper product is made up of 100% wheat straw which is an agricultural waste and the chemicals used are according to the compliance standards and regulatory requirements. The chemicals used are also Green Seal approved which ensures the paper product being developed is sustainable and yet is considered as a speciality product of paper.en_US
