dc.description.abstractIn this dissertation the various protective schnes available for the protection of generators and transformers in Hydro Electric Station are discussed with respect to their merits and demerits. A review of the existing protective schemes of generators and transformers in Hydro Electric Stations has also been done to assess the diversity existing in this field. The conclusion that could be derived out of the review has been indicated. A typical scheme of protection for the equipments which can be recommended for standardisation has also been indicated. Some modern trends in protective relaying has been indicated in the last which deserve scope for further development in the subject.en_US
