Abstract: | Ensuring stability in slopes is a critical aspect of civil engineering projects, aimed at preventing slope failures and landslides. This study focuses on a comprehensive analysis of both internal and external stability in the Reinforced Embankment Slope using Tehri Dam cross-section and material properties. The internal stability assessment utilizes the complete wedge method, while external stability employs a two-part wedge method based on the pseudo-static approach. The findings from this analysis contribute valuable insights to the existing literature, enhancing our understanding of reinforced slope design and providing a reference for future slope stabilization projects. Because the geosynthetic layer's axial tensile force is so strong, it is seen that the bottom layers of reinforcement from the top of the slope are more crucial to the tension mode of failure. The slope should have an appropriate pull-out length of reinforcement to maintain the desired value of the factor of safety in pull-out mode, since it has been noted that the upper layers of reinforcement from the top of the slope are more crucial to the pull-out mode of failure. It is necessary to have both internal and external stability while designing a new slope. So the maximum lives can be saved while failure then economy of the Dam or slope structure should be considered. |
