Abstract: | The last mile of healthcare service delivery plays a crucial role in ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for urban populations. However, in many regions, including Ranchi District, this critical aspect of healthcare remains inadequate and presents significant challenges. This thesis investigates strategies to enhance last mile healthcare services in Ranchi District, with a specific focus on improving accessibility, affordability, and quality of care. Through an extensive review of literature and an analysis of existing healthcare infrastructure and services in the district, this research identifies key barriers and shortcomings in the current last mile healthcare delivery system. These include limited physical infrastructure, lack of healthcare facilities in underserved areas, inefficient transportation networks, and inadequate awareness and utilization of healthcare services by the population. Based on the identified challenges, a comprehensive set of strategies and interventions is proposed to address the gaps in last mile healthcare services in Ranchi District. These strategies encompass infrastructure development, such as establishing primary healthcare centers in underserved areas, enhancing transportation connectivity, and implementing telemedicine services. Additionally, community engagement initiatives are recommended to improve awareness and encourage health-seeking behavior among the population. The proposed strategies are evaluated through qualitative methods, including surveys, interviews, and spatial analysis. The research assesses the feasibility, effectiveness, and potential impact of the strategies on improving last mile healthcare services. Furthermore, the study considers the financial implications and potential partnerships required for successful implementation. |
