Abstract: | Mobile ad hoc networks are useful aspirants in the situation of rapid deployment and have a wide range of applications, including emergency conditions, military operations, and de-centralized interactions. These are the self-organized network of autonomous computing devices which are free to move arbitrarily. The topology of the network may vary unpredictably, and the network may observe frequent disruption. These networks provide multi-hop connectivity even in the infrastructure-less, resource constraint, and dynamic environment. The route discovery is the primary requisite for data transfer between nodes that are arbitrarily located and can move dynamically. The routing protocols are intrinsic components of these networks to find a suitable route between nodes under dynamically changing topology with the possibility of broken and re-connecting links. The quality of the chosen route is an important aspect and dictates the performance of the network. Therefore, we need the routing protocol that can provide improved route quality in the constraint environment. There exist many routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks. The systemic illustration and analysis are required to analyse the various approaches of the route finding process and to extract the research gap. It is worth to propose and develop the routing protocol for quality route selection. The interconnection of the mobile ad hoc network is also a useful paradigm to extend the applicability of the network. |
