Abstract: Wetlands are one of the most important ecosystems that are among the most threatened. These valuable natural assets play a significant role in climate change, biodiversity, hydrology, and human health. However, there are many natural wetlands. These species that depend upon them continue to be degraded due to several threats that include rapid urbanization, anthropogenic alterations, illegal encroachments, and unauthorized construction. Deepor beel is one of such wetlands constantly experiencing these threats, which ultimately increases the biotic pressure on the ecosystem and affects aquatic life and settlements around it. This study focuses on identifying the significant hazards and indicators, analyzing the data, and recommending a sustainable management plan for Deepor Beel to tackle biodiversity's increasing degradation and loss.
