Abstract: | The thesis entitled “Coordination Complexes of Copper and Cobalt as Efficient Catalysts For Different Organic Transformations” is reported in seven chapters. The present work includes the design and synthesis of bidentate and tridentate ligands. The obtained ligands were characterized by different spectral techniques such as IR, UV-Visible and NMR spectroscopy. These ligands coordinated with copper and cobalt transition metals to form metal complexes. The synthesized complexes were characterized by various analytical techniques like UV-Visible, IR, NMR and elemental analysis. The structure of complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography. All complexes were employed as catalysts to carry out various catalytic reactions. The catalytic reactions includes the formation of carbon-carbon bond, carbon-nitrogen bond, aromatic hydroxylation, quinolines and quinazolinones synthesis, triazoles formation and α‐alkylation of ketones. The products obtained through catalytic reactions were purified by column chromatography and characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR techniques. |
