The thesis entitled “Synthesis of hybrids of carbo- and heterocyclic systems using quinone variants” is divided into three chapters, viz. (i) Introduction, (ii) Objectives, Results and Discussion, and (iii) Experimental. Novel protocols for the synthesis of densely functionalized C-3 arylated indole derivatives and functionalized vinylogous carbamates derivatives mediated by environmentally benign Lewis acids have been developed. Further, novel synthetic methodology for the synthesis of functionalized maliemide derivatives mediated by organic base has been developed.en_US
