Electric discharge machining (EDM), wirc-EDM. and electrochemical machining (ECM) are the most promising processes amongst the non-conventional machining methods, for shaping difficult-to-machine materials. Notwithstanding the merit of these machining methods, there are still problems which need to be solved and improvements to be made beibre they can be effectively utilized. Electrical discharge turning (ED]') is a non-conventional machining process. The notable advantage of this process is that it can provide with higher material removal rate (MRR) and better surface finish. The effect oldifferent process parameters such as Current. Pulse-on-time, Pulse-off-time, Spark gap and Rotation of workpiece, different quality characteristics (MRR, radial overcut (ROC) and surface finish, during an Electrical discharge machining operation were reviewed. Despite of significant advantages provided by [1)1, the problems associated are low material removal rate, and poor surface integrity. In this study. Al-SIC metal matrix composite was turned by EDT process to obtain the optimum value of process parameters. The output performance of machining was obtained in lbrm of MRR. SR and ]'WR. Taguchi robust design was used for design of experiment and 1.17 Orthogonal Array was used for experiment. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) method was perlhrmed to check the accuracy and significant level of parameters.en_US
