We have seen that the humanity has been facing natural calamities from time to time. Due to scientific development and research the loss to life and property has been reduced comparatively. We all know that the major challenge after any disaster is providing shelter, food and medicine to the people. The current research and experimental has been undertaken to help the administration in catering for the shelters. The columns tested in this experiment are such which can be produced economically and these don't require very much trained manpower, in addition they are strong and would last much. The columns studied in the project would go a long way in bridging the gap between make shift temporary arrangement and permanent infrastructure. These columns are very easy to construct and do not require much skilled manpower for construction. These columns are strong and can support much higher load and withstand the stress of nature. Hence it is felt that these columns will go a long way in providing a much needed long term relief to the people and also constructing infrastructure at a faster pace and with limited resourcesen_US
