This thesis proposes simulation study of the compact Microwave Filters using the micro-strip line and design of a new band-pass filter for the WLAN applications using the technique insertion loss method. Radio Frequency (RF) filters operating in the microwave frequency range are needed for applications including wireless and satellite communications as well as military applications. These applications demand high performance filters that will contribute as little as possible to a system's size and cost. Advances in materials used to construct these filters have played a significant part in meeting these demands. Planar and dielectric resonator filters are among the filter types which benefit from higher quality dielectric materials. Planar, or printed circuit board (PCB) based filters are popular and relatively practical to design. This designed filter is a narrowband filter so this filter will used as resonator in feedback path of oscillator for frequency stabilization. A dual band band-pass filter using dual mode SIR resonator for WLAN applications is studied and simulated and modification is done in the geometric structure of the filter. For better isolation between the two pass-bands the source load coupling technique is used with a new resonator of half wavelength for the better bandwidth in the second pass-band. This thesis has also compared the simulated results of the dual band-band pass filter with newly modified dual band band-pass filter. The simulation conveys that newly modified filter has better isolation in the pass-band and the transmission zero is easily tuneable to achieve better isolations.en_US
