Abstract: One of the biggest, or may be, the largest scale system ever made, is the electric grid with its number of components, called a power system. Over centuries, power system has evolved to the system which may cover countries and world. The primary purpose of power system expansion planning is to pupation of existing network and install new network to fulfill the load requirements for 10 to 15 years. We will work on generation, substation and network planning. In further chapter we will discuss about generation expansion planning, substation expansion planning and network planning which join generation and transmission in the contrast of basic mathematical approach as well as new hybrid approach. We will discuss that new objective functions and constraints may be required to be added in the some case. We also talked about the uncertainty which is normally more pronounced in the few case. One of the current approach in deal with the uncertainty is scenario techniques. A scenario is one of the possible condition that might be happen in the future. The result is obtain from MATLAB programming and other tools.
