Abstract: Mixed convection flow and heat transfer under the influence of cross buoyancy on asymmetrically confined heated circular cylinder in a horizontal channel has been studied. The influence of asymmetric confinement over the bluff body submerged in air like Newtonian fluid has been investigated. Due to the off-centre position of the cylinder, there is RI a net lift force acting on it in addition to the drag force. Whole study has been performed for the following parameter ranges: Richardson number, Ri = 0, 1, 2; Reynolds number, Re = 50, 100, 150; power-law index, n = 1; Prandtl number, Pr = 0.7; blockage ratio, 0 = 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4, and gap ratio, 0.25 :5 y < 1. Drag and lift coefficients, and Nusselt number are calculated for the above conditions.
