Abstract: | This report illustrates the design, simulation and fabrication of a concurrent dualband directional antenna array for the human vital sign detection and allied analysis. The proposed antenna operates concurrently at 2.44-/5.25-GHz WLAN band. The report articulate, in-depth analysis of each aspect of the design of the proposed antenna. The primary aim of this dissertation is to improve the detection sensitivity of human vital signs. Comparison with a unidirectional antenna proves the validity of the proposed design. Also a signal processing algorithm is developed for the processing of the concurrent dual band information detected by means of the proposed antenna. The algorithm is developed to predict the heartbeat and respiration rate of the human being under test. Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Wavelet Transform (WT) are used for the analysis of the detected signal. A fabricated prototype of the said antenna is presented herein. The design is supported with the simulated and measurement results |
