In the present work, theoretical investigation has been done related to reactive distillation column. The main objectives of this research are developing a steady state model for the reactive distillation of CANOLA OIL simulation of the model using ASPEN PLUS to study the steady state and variation of other parameters on the process and ultimately on the conversion and purity of product. ASPEN PLUS software has the capabilities of solving Reactive Distillation processes, but it requires inputs of various operating and design parameters. In this work, an extensive literature survey of the previous research related to reactive distillation column has been done to gain deep insight into the technology. The main conclusion of this work is that by using reactive distillation column the conversion can be increased around 13% compared to conventional batch reactor. In this work effects of other parameters have also been studied on the conversion and purity of the product.en_US
