Abstract: The important and core part of any chemical or process industries is distillation column. The distillation column play vital role in the field of separation process. Demand and energy conservation is the driving force for any change in the technology. Advance distillation columns satisfying the need of demand with less energy input and gives higher purity products. Reactive distillation, divided wall column, petlyuk column and cyclic distillation column e comes under the advance distillation column. Nowadays these advance distillation column are replacing the existing distillation column. Cyclic distillation is the latest technology in the advance distillation column. Actually, it is the unexplored area of the advance distillation column. The literature review states the theoretical studies as well as experimental results of cyclic distillation column. The model equations were developed recently and hence simulation can be done. Various assumption were made for the simulation of cyclic distillation column and to understand the insightful view of distillation tower. This thesis elaborate and explore the concept of cyclic distillation column which presenting the rigorous model. In-depth study of cyclic distillation has done and provides the benefits as compared to convention distillation column. Several case studies were done on the basis of ideal or non-ideal mixture. The design methodology and simulation are presented with good controllability and high flexibility of cyclic distillation. It also demonstrate the effect of various process variable on distillation column.
