dc.description.abstract | The dissertation gives a brief description about a suspension system of rail vehicle. It is also gives a brief description about the types of suspension system of railway vehicle and about their elements. Railway is a very important transportation medium. Suspension system is very important part of railway vehicle for vehicle stability and comfort level. And in this time railway vehicle speed increases rapidly for reducing the transportation time then the vibration effect also increases so we need some other advance suspension system for reducing the vibration effect. Previously tests were carried out with hydraulic damper which had leakage problems and further new tests suggested the above could be replaced with other suitable dampers. In this dissertation hydraulic damper is replaced by elastomeric damper. The response for both the dampers were taken separately and the result suggested that values obtained for the elastorneric damper were better than hydraulic dampers. And elastomeric damper solve the leakage problem of hydraulic damper. This report also gives an idea about the literature review i.e. the work has already been done and the future scope of works that can be implemented on this topic. | en_US |
