Abstract: | In this dissertation we propose the application of the Immersed Interlace Method for 2D modelling of Magnetotel luric Data usnig MATLAB. The algorithm has been developed for elliptic equations and has not vet been applied to the field of Magnetotellurics. This approach modifies the coefficients of the difference equation used near the interfaces of heterogeneities present in the model. At poilils far away from the heterogeneit\ . the regular Finite Difference Scheme is used. This method promises better accuracy of modelling of the apparent resistivity profile in comparison to conventional algorithms such as the Finite Difference Method For the sanie grid especially in the presence of sharp discontinuities in the model. Both TE and TM IViode will be studied under this dissertation. Final lv. the model led profiles will he used for inversion in 'FE. TM and joint inversion TE and TM Mode. |
