Abstract: The objective of this Dissertation is to study the behaviour of microalloyed steels to slurry erosion behavior. Microalloyed steels are used to make pipes which are used to carry slurry. Microalloyed (MA) steels are susceptible to slurry erosion. The present works studies the slurry erosion behaviour of microalloyed dual phase steels. DP steels with different intercritical annealing time were made in vertical tubular furnace. The Engg. Stress and strain of MADP Steels and normalized microalloyed and low C steel was studied. The MADP steels did not exhibit the yield point phenomena. The slurry erosion tests for normalised, MADP steel and as-received low C steel has been conducted. It is evident from the slurry erosion test that MADP steels have remarkably higher resistance to slurry erosion. It was found that MADP 15 steels had the maximum resistance to slurry erosion followed by MADP 10, MADP20, MAASR, MA nor and LCASR steels. The present work also studies the synergetic effect of slurry and cavitation erosion. It is evident that the MADP steels have higher resistance to slurry and cavitation erosion in comparison to normalized MA steels. It is also clear that the erosion due to synergy of slurry and cavitation erosion of MADP steels is more than on account of slurry erosion alone
