Abstract: The plasmonic based nano structure is an emerging concept in the field of optics. As per the current scenario of communication, necessity of high speed data transfer and the compact designs can be fulfilled only by plasmonic. The presented report outlines a mono-mode excitation in the surface plasmon (SP) based nano-strip waveguide (NSW) and plasmonic coplanar waveguide (CPW). Also it figures comparative analysis of impedance variation of the NSW and plasmonic CPW. The Plasmonic effects are considered in developing the modal of characteristic impedance for NSW and Plasmonic CPW. We effectively demonstrate the superiority of Plasmonic CPW over the nanostrip waveguide in terms of its viable range of impedance for the single guiding mode. Moreover, we propose a few designs for quad-band optical antenna which will work in the U, E, L and 0 window of optical communication. Also, we have proposed a wide band plasmonic CPW fed rectangular patch antenna for optical communication. All the antennas have compact size. The proposed optical antennas emit a directional beam with good directivity and radiation efficiency. The proposed plasmonic CPW fed patch antenna has a very wide bandwidth which might be useful to communicate in all optical windows.
