dc.description.abstract | In modern days, electricity is produced from both conventional and unconventional sources. Renewable energy development has been rapid as many environmental issuesinvolved with conventional sources are becoming the cause of concern. Wind based electric conversion systems are rapidly growing among the other renewable sources of energy. However, the major challenge is the continuous speed variation which affects the power output and thereby causes the variation in voltage of system to which these are connected. This thesis work aims to develop a voltage control technique for grid connected permanent magnet synchronous generator coupled with wind turbine. For this purpose first, mathematical models of various components of wind electric conversion system comprising wind turbine, gear box, PMSG with power electronics interface have been developed. Thecontrols of pitch angle and converter have also been considered in the work. The simulation has been carried out under the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The complete simulation model is tested for different cases like wind speed variation, load variation and fault analysis and the results are obtained with developed scheme. | en_US |
