Abstract: My work concentrates on the effect of cationic starch on the strength properties of the hand sheets made from recycled old corrugated carton. The starch is being used as internal sizing agent and the starch dose was being charged at 0%, 0.5 %, 1% and 2% of pulp oven dried weight at different beating times. The starch was being applied on the surface of the hand sheets as surface sizing agent. The results had showed that the strength properties of the paper were being improved by cationic tirh 'd :oci' '''r' hiiprovcd apprcciahl) and which can hc rc!atcd to ic :tarh adsorption efficiency on the fibers. The starch could improve the compression strength for the box-board grades made from recycled 0CC in the efficient and the effective way.
