Abstract: in Magnetotellurics, the response function (Impedance) can be used to extract the information about the subsurface parameters. These parameters are resistivity and thickness of layers, whieh if known can be used to deduce the information about the various properties of subsurface like its lithology and the type of fluid present in formations. These are various inversion methods to find these parameters. Direct inversion methods have the advantage that they don't need any initial model. The target of this dissertation is to develop and compare the code of D model solution and I-I model solution for ID Magnetotellurics data proposed by Parker. This comparison covers the various aspects which such as computational complexities, solution compatibility and physical relevance, and misfit observed. The code developed was verified by matching the published results of MT data recorded by Larsen (1975) in Hawaii.
