Abstract: Railway level crossing accidents are more dangerous than other transportation accidents in terms of severity and death rate etc. Therefore more efforts are necessary for improving safety. There are many type of railroad level crossing which are unmanned due to lock of manpower needed to fulfil the demands. 1-lence many accidents occur at such crossing since there is no one to take care of the functioning of the railway gate when a train approaches the crossing. The main objective of this report is to manage the accident prevention system of railroad level crossing. Rapid growth of transportation activities of people live nearby railway areas increase traffic frequency rate. And as a result the number of vehicle collisions occurrence at unmanned railway crossing with no guards and gates has also increased. Some factors influence the number of accidents at unmanned railroad level crossing. Those factors are train engineering, road engineering and environment. The second objective of this study is to modelling those factors. The modelling which represents the correlation of accident at Railroad level crossings with those factors is analysed with Poisson regression analysis by using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program. Some observations were conducted at 8 unmanned rail road level crossings at Kandla railway station to Tapir railway station. The results of the last Poison regression modelling show five significant factors influencing number of accidents at unmanned railway crossings. And those are train speed, vehicle speed, average of daily traffic (ADT) and distance of speed breaker from crossing and visibility. Vehicle speed seems to become the primary contributing factor to collision rates at unmanned railway crossings. However, it is recommended that besides the regulation of the vehicle speed, other factors such as facilities and provision e.g. speed breaker providing and Early Warning System (EWS) should be provided to with stand and hinder accidents at unmanned railway crossing effectively
