Industries have shown remarkable interest in the hybrid joining process due to its advantages as compared with the individual processes of joining. The hybrid welding process has vast potential in extending the application of different fields like laser, plasma, arc, and adhesives by combining two or processes to get some unique features as these provide signilicant improvements in weld quality and efficiency of joint in manufacturing applications. The main argument of thesis is the profound understanding of the advanced hybrid welding and to find the optimized process parameters for the newly developed hybrid joining technique, a combination of adhesive bonding and 1'lG metal weld spot, for improved mechanical performance of the joint. The thesis entails working on finding of important process parameters and performing of experiments in order to find their corresponding effects using design expert. From the metallographic and mechanical evaluations of the lap- hybrid joint it was found that weld- bond joint had better joint strength as compared to FIG metal weld spot.en_US
