dc.description.abstract | This study examines pull-out test results of geogrid specimens embedded in a granular soil. The influence of specimen geometry, normal load and sleeve length on the pull-out force of the geogrid specimen are discussed and the results of laboratory pull-out tests on uniaxial and biaxial geogrid specimen are analyzed. Soil and geogrid properties are fully described and the soil-geogrid interaction behaviour was studied. The conclusions of this study are as follows: I) the influence of - the geogrid specimen width on the pull-out response of the geogrid specimens tested is minimal, ii) the placement of a 0.20 rn long sleeve in the front wall of the pull-out box reduces the magnitude of back calculated soil-geogrid interface shear resistance, iii) pullout resistance of geogrid with different embedded length depends on density of soil; and iv) the coefficient of interaction ranges between 0.5 to I for laboratory tests | en_US |
