Abstract: A revolution came in transportation when electricity came in transportation field. The reason was clean and efficient transportation by electric vehicles. That remained the vital point in development of electric vehicle. In future, these electric vehicles including it's various types as hybrid electric vehicle (HEY), pure electric vehicle and plug in hybrid electric vehicle (P1-1EV) will ahead in market. To operate electric vehicle, we need to charge battery. AC supply need to be converted in to DC to charge battery. Different organization have defined different standard for charging. These standards are based on different power level and different voltage level. On the other hand if grid is suffering lack of power then we can provide energy back to grid with bidirectional converters. Hence we can charge our electric vehicle in lean hours and discharge our vehicle to provide energy to grid for grid support or to earn money. Only bidirectional chargers are able to flow power form grid to vehicle (G2V) and vehicle to grid (V2G). These bidirectional chargers include AC to DC and DC to DC converter. In this dissertation we will study bidirectional AC to DC converter and DC to DC converter.
