Abstract: | In central India, inland waterways offers economical and environmentally friendly freight transport option in India. The potential is not sufficiently exploited due to many reasons. Major reasons for unsatisfactory role of inland waterway with the growing freight volumes in India are, there is lack of functional integration of the ports with their potential hinterland and underdeveloped function of tn-modality. The main aim of this analysis to developed the tn-modal system in India and encouraging the Inland transportation in India. The main focus of this report is to develop the intermodal terminal at different location to successfully activate the potential of waterborne transportation. This report also focuses on the analysis of different hindrance faced to develop the multimodal system and develop the Inland Navigation in India. The analysis in this report mainly focuses on the bank effect due to loading and unloading of the vessel, sedimentation problem and aggradations of bed, bank protection using different method, layout and the location of the project considering the land use land cover of the area., geotechnical stability test using the software like PLAXIS 2D. Use of geosynthetic materials for critical slope and to increase its bearing capacity. All the analysis about the problem facing by Inland sector has been studied and solution of which is provided taking into consideration the social and environmental effect .Finally the economical review has been done for the feasibility of the project. |
