Abstract: | For Variable speed wind power application among all the generators available, Double fed induction generator is the most preferred choice now a days.DFIG are used mostly in grid connected mode . Rotor is connected to a four quadrant AC-DCAC converter. Grid connection is given directly to the stator side. Wind speed keeps on changing from time to time and from place to place, rotation of the rotor should be as per the variation of wind. Most suitable for variable speed wind turbine application. Also, reactive and active power can be controlled independently in this case. Hence, voltage fluctuation at the output can be reduced significantly i.e. It reduces flickering. Current/speed control mode is used to track the power characteristic for under rated wind sped.Pitch control mechanism helps in getting rated power above rated wind speed. Various control strategy is shown in this paper. Wind fluctuates at higher rate. Hence, our main moto is to develop a control strategy which helps to get the maximum power output despite od changing wind speed. |
