The surface roughness method, a etching of chemicals and combination of chemicals was developed for the printing of stable hydrophilic surface of rolled aluminium foil. The microstructure and surface wettability of hydrophilic surface were characterized by FESEM and water contact angle measurement. The chemical etchants were sulphuric acid, nitric acid and acetic acid and also the combination of all these three acid. The effect of roughness method on the hydrophilic surface has been discussed. The result indicate that the increase of surface energy of the rolled aluminium foil .Stable hydrophilic surface with contact angle lower 50 are obtained at optimum concentration of 70-80 vol% of nitric acid and 60-70 vol% of sulphuric acid.en_US
