dc.description.abstract | MIMO technology has shown very promising results in today's wireless communication systems with substantial increase in capacity of system which has resulted in increase in robustness and reliability of system. But MIMO systems are very difficult to fabricate on small devices with energy constraint. This report explores cooperative communication systems in which neighbouring nodes pooi their resources to create virtual MIMO environment. Cooperation at physical layer raises the question of whether transmitting for other user's is feasible in an environment with energy constraint. So, this report further explores energy efficient protocols to answer the same. First, BER based power allocation is derived for cooperative communication over AWGN Channel. Because the entire wireless communication takes place over Rayleigh Fading Channel, BER based power allocation is further extended over Rayleigh Fading Channel. | en_US |
