Abstract: | In LTE, frequency reuse of 1 is used which results in the inter-cell-interference (ICI), as a result cell edge user is severely affected by the interference which reduces the throughput of users specially at the cell edges. Coordinated Multi- Point (CoMP) is the key technology to mitigate the ICI specially at the cell edge. Thus increased data rate for cell edge user is obtained. CoMP is the method in which multiple BSs coordinate with each other and forms a cooperating cluster called ’cooperating set’. Either all the BSs communicate simultaneously to user or one BS communicate to the user according to the best channel condition based on different types of CoMP technique. This report discusses the basics of CoMP, different kinds of CoMP techniques. Then analysis of CoMP in terms of SINR, spectral efficiency, throughput and comparison with Non-CoMP (without coordination) is also performed. MIMO and different kinds of precoding schemes are studied and sum-capacity maximization is performed. Finally, MATLAB results are added showing analysis of CoMP in terms of SINR, throughput and spectral efficiency. Then comparison of different precoding schemes such as ZF, MMSE, SVD, SVD-BD in terms of sum-capacity calculation is performed. Sum-capacity maximization is performed by adding Water filling algorithm to SVD technique which enhances the system performance. In short, the main motive of this dissertation is to study the technique which can mitigate the ICI and multi-user interference (MUI) in the cellular wireless network. Here CoMP transmission technique mitigates ICI and MUI cancellation is performed by utilizing the MIMO precoding schemes at the transmitter |
