Abstract: | Nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles were grown through a simple wet chemical solution method on nickel foil. NiO nanoparticles were coated with graphene oxide (GO) solution by dip coating technique and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) method. Formation of NiO was confirmed by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and morphology of NiO nanoparticles was checked by FESEM. Raman spectroscopy as used to confirm the formation of GO and CNT deposition on NiO nanoparticles. Field emission characteristics of GO coated samples shows the turn on field at 1300 V, the maximum current is 1.403 mA and field enhancement factor value is 786.54. Similarly the field emission characterstics, CNT grown sample shows the turn on voltage 500V, the maximum current value is 0.376 mA and the field enhancement factor is 1258.55. |
