Abstract: | In present era of global automation, it is not possible to continue to survive without reliable systems. Thus, all of the operating engineering systems are anticipated to remain operative with the maximum efficiency for the maximum period i.e. dependable operation. The significance of reliable operation has been realized in big complex technique industries along with Hydro Power Plant, Hospital, sugar, textile, paper plant, fertilizer plant and many others In order to achieve the high availability and productiveness, it is important that all systems/subsystems should continue to be in upstate for an extended duration of time. However, those structures/subsystems are subjected to random failure because of bad layout, lack of operative ability and incorrect manufacturing strategies and many others inflicting heavy production losses. These failed structures can be delivered again to their running states after restoring them in minimal possible down time. The plant operating conditions and the repair strategies play an important role in maintaining the operating systems, operative for optimum period i.e. finest device availability. This can be completed only through performance evaluation and analysis of all the operating systems of the plant. Reliability and availability of the individual generating units of Mohammadpur Hydro Power Station were evaluated and applied on this paper from April 2014 to March 2017. The operational data for the above duration extracted and analyzed with the aid of Markov model. From the gathered facts and based on the form of faults faced by each generating unit, one-of-a-kind states are defined referred to as Markov states. The reliability indices which include Repair Rate, Failure Rate, Mean time to Repair (MTTR), Mean time to Failure (MTTF) and mean time between Failure (MTBF) had been determined |
