Abstract: | The implementation of master plan of Bodhgaya has failed, one of the major reasons behind that is there was no involvement of the local community. The participation of local community in the development of area can be augmented by integrating creative economy with heritage site development This chapter gives a brief introduction about the relation between heritage site development and the local economy. Further, Need of study, Aims, objective, Scope and Research methodology adopted to conduct this study are the other components of this chapter This chapter is the literature review of creative economy and about heritage cities. It gives brief description about the economic activities under different models of creative industries. HRIDAY schemes are also descriped in this chapter In this chapter case studies are explained. First case study is primary case study of Heritage Street Amritsar for Physical planning evolution and another one is Varanasi which explains the brief of government policies for promoting creative economy This chapter is city area profile which gives the detailed information about city Bodhgaya. This chapter is divided into seven sections of seven subsystems. In these chapters findings from the above chapter analysis is identified and recommendations are provided for the improvement of these zones. The recommendations are given in form of urban redevelopment project and strategic policies |
