Abstract: | The study of the properties of ferrite nanoparticles has attracted considerable interest in recent years because of their importance in the fundamental understanding of physical processes as well as their proposed applications for many technological purposes. So in the present work Magnetite (Fe3O4) and Cobalt ferrite (CoxFe3-xO4 Different characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field Effect Scanning Electron Microscopy (Fe-SEM), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), UV visible spectroscopy, Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM), etc. were used to study the different properties of the prepared samples. Structural and morphology of ferrite nanoparticles were examined using XRD and Fe-SEM respectively. Chemical structure analysed by FTIR and EDS. Optical characterization is done by UV Spectroscopy. Results of VSM trace the magnetic properties of the both the ferrite samples which were sintered at different temperatures. where x=0.21, 0.47, 0.68 and 1) Nano particles were successfully synthesized by co-precipitation method. Chemical combinations used were the ferric nitrite nonahydrate with potassium chloride for synthesis of the Magnetite, whereas the ferric nitrite nonahydrate with cobaltous nitrate for synthesis of Cobalt ferrite. In all the combinations sodium hydroxide (NaOH, 0.5 M) was used as a hydrolyzing agent which will enable the precipitates formation of the respective ferrites. Subsequently the precipitates of ferrites surpassed the washing and drying stage then they were kept at different sintering temperatures to understand effect of the temperature on the properties of nano particles of respective ferrites. |
