Abstract: | Burning behavior of any fuel is very important parameter for the fire hazard assessment in any industry or home. Study of burning behavior of fuel will help to understand the behavior of fire in different condition. An experimental set-up is designed and fabricated in fire research laboratory to investigate and analysis of burning characteristics of different kind of solid as well as liquid fuel. Experiments are carried out in a compartment of dimension of 4× 4× 4 and having a door of 2×1. In fire compartment fuel is burnt in small as well as large scale and energy analysis is carried out. Different burning characteristics of fuel like Heat release rate, study of combustion products concentration like 𝑂2, C𝑂2 are measured by gas analyzer and temperature, heat flux reaching at various locations are measured by thermocouples and heat flux sensors respectively. The result which we are going to get after experiment will help in to control the fire hazard. In this thesis the experiment has been done on solid fuel involving mango wood crib of stick size of 50 cm length and 5×5 cross section. |
