dc.description.abstract | Many parts of the world do not have electricity access but have ample solar energy. Due to the unavailability of electrical access. farmers are forced to use diesel water pump sets to pump groundwater for irrigation of agriculture lands. This process of agriculture really on energy produced by dissipating fossil fuel. Use of solar energy for irrigation can have a vital role in sustainable agriculture keeping in view of the upcoming energy crisis and environmental concern. Solar powered water pumps can be used for pumping water rom streams underground groundwater for irrigation as well as a water supply for drinking. Currently, scarcity of water is a widespread problem around the world. Hence it is very important to improve water use efficiency in the irrigation area. This dissertation report ideals with the design and performance analysis of a simple but very efficient solar photovoltaic powered water pumping system for irrigation in the agricultural area. The study deals theoretical analysis and modeling techniques considering all equivalent ielectricalicomponentsiforisolaripoweriwateripumpingisystemisuchiasisolaripanel, DC-DC boost on verter, maximum power point tracking, DC motor, and solar water pump, etc. For building create solar-powered pumping system. To validate the proposed system modeling is done in Matlab Simulink environment. Matlab Simulation verifies the system and its a component. Simulation of solar single cell, solar modeled and solar array is also done in view of a better understanding of the system. To study the economic viability of the solar water pump set a case study been done in KHOME KALAN farms, BAGRAM District PARWAN province in Afghanistan. Economic viability in Bagram district is allied comparing fossil solar powered water pumping system used diesel power water pumping system in addition sensitivity analysis using life cycle cost comparison is also done for study area by irrigated has wheat and maize crops. Cost analysis and comparisons of both system solar water pump system and diesel water pump the results confirm the solar water pump system is significant economic and efficient and the performance of solar water pump system is highest than diesel water pump system. | en_US |
