dc.description.abstractRenewable energy, a viable alternative of the world, can overcome the energy crisis that hinders growth of today's economies. It is more economic and serves better when hybridized. A hybrid renewable energy system is very cost effective and has higher reliability if it is optimized with proper methodology and dispatch control strategy while addressing the site strengths and limitations. This dissertation works aims to meet the energy demand of a typical grid isolated area Hariharpur Gadhi Gaunpalika in Sindhuli district of Neal with minimum possible cost of energy. Unlike other studies, demand constraint of components is also considered which aims at reduction of unnecessary energy conservation and component rating. This also simplifies the control strategy as well as reduces the human involvement. Solar, Wind and Biomass available resources are used for the energy generation. For Biomass energy resources estimation, we have considered agriculture (food crops) waste and forest waste only. Biogas produced from cattle waste (dunk) will be used for cooking purpose only, which is not sufficient in volume to produce surplus energy. The HOMER software tool has been used for the optimization and sensitivity analysis. The seven different scenario based on the optimization of hybrid energy system has been obtained, from which the scenario C based on total net present cost, cost of electricity and renewable fraction penetration has been selected. The total net present cost and cost of energy has been found to be $ 1.16 million and $0.123 respectively. Finally, the study recommends a governmental policy for the subsidy of the system components to encourage in generating energy to a remote un-electrified village of Nepalen_US
