The work presented in this thesis is an experimental study of accumulative roll bonding of 5080 aluminium alloy with special focus on ARB procedures, experimental set up, result & discussion olvarious mechanical tests & microstructural studies along with numerical simulation of tensile test of ARB alloy. A complete comparison of mechanical properties of 5080 aluminium alloy between bulk & accumulative roll bonded specimen is given in this report. The thesis is started with some introduction to overview of accumulative roll bonding process which includes ARB procedures, mechanism of bonding, parameters affecting bonding, influence of grain size on mechanical behavior of ultrafine structure material & summary and scope of thesis are also - defined. Different literature review about accumulative roll bonding process are also presented in next chapter. Various mechanical tests includes tensile tests, micro hardness test and three point bend tests of base alloy, ARB alloy with & without annealing condition are performed to investigate the influence of instabilities on the mechanical properties are given in thesis. Microstructural characterization of accumulative roll bonded specimen is done that includes optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy & XRD analysis. The results of various mechanical tests & microstructural studies of ARB alloy with or without annealing condition are discussed & compared with the base alloy. Numerical simulation of tensile test is also done both for bulk alloy & ARI3 alloy in order to compare experimental value with the numerically simulated valueen_US
