Authors: Kachhap, Komal
Keywords: Thirot Hydro Electric Project;Fabrication;Trifurcation;WRDM
Issue Date: 2016
Abstract: This report consists of a penstock trifurcation with tie rods, which is a complex structure, has been chosen and it has been analyzed from the view point of its fabrication as well as structural design. For the fabrication of a trifurcation, the most important part is its surface development which involves three dimensional imagination and exhaustive computations. The structural design of trifurcation which is also of complex nature has been covered in chapter 4. Various steps to carry out design of the penstock have been brought out there. A brief description about the trifurcation of the Thirot Hydro Electric project located at District Lahaul and Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. The computer software is used for the 3D modeling and stress analysis of the said trifurcation. Manual computation have been carried out for the stress analysis of this trifurcation. The results have been analyzed in chapter 6 and the dissertation has been concluded in chapter 7, where suitable conclusions have been drawn on the basis of analysis of results.
