Abstract: Improvement of power factor in distribution networking, Howe can decreased loses, voltage drop, over current and searching away for solution. power Factor Improvement is one of the technique which helps in consenlation of electrical power alongwith number of other benefits on voltage ,current active power, losses ,conductors cross-section, and ect. number of different techniques can be used to improve the Power Factor. Different techniques give good results for different types of loads, but the techniques which is needed to improve Power Factor, for the Power system such as Power factor and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), with highly variable load condition is explained ’ in this paper. The technique described in this paper is claimed as the most efficient as the Power Factor Improvement Capacitor Banks are designed afler Computerized Energy Analysis on each load centre This presents practical studies, performed by KEL (Khawaja Elecwonics Pa. Ltd.) who are the manufacturer of the Capacitor in , WAPDA and ENERCON (Energy Conservation Department Govt.), showing the benefits achieved by power factor improvement of certain areas in power system of WAPDA (Power factor and Power Development Authority ), are also demonstrated.TABLE OF CONTENTS A low cost single phase and three phase Power Factor Improvement (PFI) device was designed and implemented for small signal low power loads. The designed PFI keeps the power factor of a load within a specified but adjustable range (0.85-0.90) if the load is within its capacity. The design involved designing of a small signal model load, selecting appropriate capacitors, and designing appropriate switching circuits to select proper combination of capacitors. The power factor improvement device was simple, low cost and it is an innovative way to demonstrate the logic of switching the capacitors. The components used were standard logic chips and no Microcontroller or Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) was used. General information about power factor, what is power factor, and where will used over loading and increased heating of net work components like conductors , Transformers, cables etc
